RIU Stipendiary Stewards today questioned Co Trainer Mr Mark Purdon in relation to the fitness of Auckland Reactor.

Mr Purdon advised the Stipendiary Stewards that following trackwork on Saturday morning 29 October 2011, the abrasion sustained to Auckland Reactor’s offside foreleg at the Ashburton Racemeeting Monday 24 October 2011 had worsened.

Mr Purdon consulted his Veterinary Surgeon who was present at Auckland Reactor’s workout today. His Veterinary Surgeon’s advice was that Auckland Reactor would be fit to compete in the NEW ZEALAND CUP given the nature of the injury and the timeframe until raceday.

Mr Purdon also advised the Stipendiary Stewards that Auckland Reactor has not missed any work since the Ashburton racemeeting on 24 October 2011.

This Wednesday (am) 2 November 2011 Auckland Reactor will complete trackwork in the presence of an RIU appointed Veterinary Surgeon and Stipendiary Steward along with Mr Purdon’s Veterinary Surgeon.

Further communication will be published at this time.
