The Racing Integrity Unit Ltd commenced operations in February 2011 and is an independent organisation charged with managing integrity issues within the New Zealand racing industry. Bringing together Stipendiary Steward and Racecourse Investigator functions for the three codes – harness, thoroughbred and greyhound, the RIU is responsible for investigating and prosecuting breaches of the Rules of Racing.

We are looking to build a pool of Casual Swabbing Officials in the Central Districts region for race meetings south of Taupo. This role involves taking urine samples from horses on course throughout harness and thoroughbred race meetings and completing required documentation.

The people we are looking for will have a basic knowledge of racing, and will be experienced working with and around horses. Most importantly applicants will be able to demonstrate a high level of integrity and follow processes carefully.

These Casual positions are rostered with hours often outside normal business hours.
