Trainee Stipendiary Steward Required

The Racing Integrity Unit Ltd commenced operations in February 2011 and is an independent organization charged with managing integrity issues within the three New Zealand racing codes - Harness, Thoroughbred and Greyhound. The unit brings together Stipendiary Steward and Racecourse Investigator functions for each of the three New Zealand racing codes and is responsible for investigating and prosecuting breaches of the Rules of Racing.

An exciting opportunity exists within the RIU for a Trainee Stipendiary Steward.

The person we are looking for will have a basic knowledge of racing, greyhound, harness or thoroughbred. It is essential you understand that you will be trained to work as a Stipendiary Steward across all codes. Work involves a five day roster with a requirement to work outside
normal office hours.

A knowledge and competence in computer technology and experience in Word and Excel would be an advantage.

You will have energy, enthusiasm and a passion for the racing industry and a willingness to embrace change.

The successful applicant will be based from the RIU’s head office in Ellerslie. Travel and relocation maybe required after initial training.
